Embroidery Digitizing Journey
Y’all! I have looked high and low for an in-person class in my area to teach me how to digitize embroidery designs. Sadly, everyone has said “We don’t offer digitizing classes, because nobody knows how to do it.” Why is this acceptable?! I don’t want to have to always send images to a designer to digitize for me… especially if they are simple. Last year I purchased software in hopes that I could digitize some simple designs, but trust me when I say it was an EPIC FAIL!
I purchased the Embrilliance platform (piece by piece) until I had all the main pieces I thought I needed to be a great digitizer - I was clearly wrong 😂. It takes soooooo much more than just having top quality software to be a digitizer. The first thing you need, even before the software, is a bit of patience. It is inevitable that your first designs will not be the best. They may work a little and may even stitch out okay, but they won’t make you a renowned digitizer.
I’ve been practicing in my software for the last few months and have created some interesting pieces so far, but there’s still soooooooooooo much more to learn! I’ve decided to create a blog (eventually a video blog - stay tuned) of my learning journey and take you all with me for this very bumpy ride.
Recently, I’ve accidentally taught myself how to turn a true type font into a .bx embroidery font. I have been able to duplicate this happy accident a few times and that makes me even happier. I have searched YouTube and Googled for tutorials on how to do this in Embrilliance, to no avail. Now that I’ve figured it out, I plan to show you how to do it too!
I hope you stay tuned for my journey and join me on YouTube where I will be posting video content as well. Details on that will be coming soon! Until then, take care, stay safe, and happy sewing!
